Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve, study, and share the original meditation teachings of early Buddhism in a way that is accessible, authentic, and beneficial to contemporary practitioners. We are dedicated to safeguarding these practices as a living tradition—grounded in historical sources, supported by careful research, and transmitted through direct experience.
To fulfill this mission, the Society engages in a range of activities, including:
- Developing and offering educational programs, courses, and retreats focused on early Buddhist meditation
- Providing community-based instruction and guidance for practitioners at all levels
- Supporting research into early Buddhist texts, practices, and historical context
- Creating and maintaining freely accessible public resources to promote understanding and practice
Through these efforts, we aim to foster clarity, ethical awareness, and mental cultivation, while ensuring that early Buddhist meditation remains available as a practical path for insight and well-being in the modern world.
As a long-term commitment to this work, the founder has dedicated their entire estate to the Society, ensuring the continuity and preservation of these teachings for future generations. We warmly invite others who share this vision to consider including the Early Buddhism Meditation Preservation Society in their legacy planning.
The Early Buddhism Meditation Preservation Society is an independent nonprofit dedicated to preserving and transmitting early Buddhist meditation teachings through study, practice, and public resources.
